Session Title: Planning & Evaluation - What you Need to Know to Write Successful Grant Proposals

General Description: All nonprofit organizations are in the business of both proving their impact and improving their performance - essential ingredients for successful fundraising and program sustainability. This session will explore relationships between program planning and evaluation and effective grant proposal writing. It will also introduce the use of logic models in planning, and provide a framework to establish clinical outcomes and program effectiveness.

Purpose & Objectives: This session will provide an overview of program evaluation for nonprofit health services organizations. At the conclusion of this session, participants will:

  • Understand the relationship between program planning & proposal-writing
  • Describe the 5-6 step program planning & evaluation process
  • Use a logic model to make connections between needs, activities and outcomes
  • Establish an evaluation plan for at least one area of clinical focus
